Harrison Museum of African American Culture is off I-581 downtown at 1 Market Sq. S.E. in Center in the Square. With a focus on African-American culture and history, the museum details the emergence of Roanoke as well as the growth of Virginia. Permanent and temporary exhibitions range from contemporary art installations to oral histories.
