Historic St. Luke’s Church is 2 mi. s.e. on SR 10 at 14477 Benn’s Church Blvd. The Old Brick Church is said to be among the oldest church of English foundation standing in America. A brick dated 1632 was found in the original walls and is displayed. Artwork and paneling have been restored. The Gothic church’s 1630 English chamber organ is purported to be the oldest of its type in the United States. Confederate soldiers camped in the church cemetery during the Civil War.
