Pros: Nice size room! Spacious! Love the fact it had a stove and complimentary coffee maker. Looked more like a loft than hotel room.
Pros: staff and cleanliness
Cons: breakfast food was not kept up with demand had to wait for breakfast buffet to be replenished two of the three mornings during our stay
Pros: The bed and pillows were comfortable.
Cons: Could have more variety of food for breakfast and complimentary dinner. The door from the parking lot left unlocked although the sign stated it is locked. Security was concerned.
Pros: The room was amazing. It was clean, and the bed was nice. Having a kitchen was way better than just a mini fridge and microwave. The free breakfast was one of the best I've had.
Cons: There is a daily fee to park, so be aware of that.
Property is fine, but we...
Pros: Staff members in breakfast area were very pleasant each day we were there. Always had a smile. Room was comfortable, always cleaned well each day. Location has some food options within walking distance.
Cons: We had a lot of problems with the shuttle. The hotel advertises it as being available, but so many times when we needed it Friday-Sunday, it wasn't available. Example: it only ran 10am-2pm on Saturday. It's available Monday-Thursday for several hours; however, hotel guests do need to use it to get around on weekends as well, especially since the Metro is not a close walk in hot, humid weather. Another problem was the laundry cost. At check-in, we were told $1.50 for washer, $1.75 for dryer. We went to do a load of laundry, and the cost on the machines was $2.75 for washer, $2.75 for dryer. My husband went to the front desk for change because the machines don't take dollar bills, and the clerk told him she was out of quarters, "but the gas station at the corner will have some." I couldn't believe this. I went to check for myself, and the clerk told me she had no quarters, and the manager wouldn't be back until the next morning. A HOTEL GUEST in the lobby actually offered to give me quarters in exchange for the dollar bills I gave him. He also told me they ALWAYS seem to be out of quarters. This is unacceptable when a hotel holds itself out as a residential-type hotel with amenities such as laundry facilities. A change machine placed in the laundry room would be a great idea and would have eliminated this problem. As far as cost, the front desk had no idea the cost was so much higher than what we were told. The clerk showed me her post-it note with the lower prices.
Stay here if you don't...
Pros: Rooms updated. Free breakfast
Cons: Overcharged, lost $500 in business because no one knows what they're doing
The Staff Make All the...
Pros: Staff was very helpful and they worked hard to keep the public areas clean. There is a complimentary shuttle that can take you to several nearby places, such as the Metro, Tyson's Mall and the Whole Foods/Trader Joe's. The Metro stop is about a 10 minute walk away. Whole Foods is farther. Multiple options for the included breakfast buffet and there is always coffee/tea/cocoa out, plus cookies in the late afternoons. In-room kitchen is more than adequate for long term stays. The small pool had a lifeguard (unheard of in hotel pools!), and there was coin-operated laundry and a decent fitness room. Perfectly fit our needs and I'd absolutely stay there again.
Cons: Although close to Tyson's Mall with plenty of shopping and dining, I wish a grocery was within walking distance. The hotel will shuttle you to Whole Foods/Trader Joe's/Giant or you can order groceries to be delivered, but if you're without transportation the only "store" within walking distance is the Tiger Mart at the gas station. This is not the hotel's fault, of course, which is why I still gave them a "10" rating.
