This simple country spot serves great Southern fare, including a hearty breakfast complete with homemade sausage, North Carolina-style pork barbecue, beef brisket, she-crab soup, clam chowder, homemade rolls using whey, smoked salmon, premium homemade ice cream and their specialty, a sandwich made with smoked turkey and country ham salad. They call it "fine Neanderthal cuisine." The owner is a bit of a food historian, and he'll bend your ear for a while if you show interest. I always make sure I have a cooler in my trunk when I come here, so I can load up extras to bring home for dinner.
