AAA Editor Notes
Historic Christ Church & Museum is at 420 Christ Church Rd. The ornate tomb of Robert “King” Carter, who financed and built the church in 1735, is on the grounds. The brick church stands as it was built, without heat or electricity. Of interest is a marble baptismal font, a three-decker pulpit, original high-back pews, a Queen Anne holy table and original Communion silver. Carter Reception Center and Museum offers interactive exhibitions, a video presentation and guided tours.
Guided tours are available.
