AAA Inspector Notes
Inspector Pick (Location (to sporting venues, shopping, nature, waterfront etc.)): This lovely hotel sits in the middle of Colonial Williamsburg's recreation and historic activities and is in walking distance to Merchants Square.
The lodge occupies several Colonial brick buildings sprawling over well-landscaped grounds adjacent to a restored area. The interior is decorated in a charming folk-art style with a casual elegance. The guest rooms vary, so make your choice based on your preferences—some are new with French doors opening onto patios; others are quite spacious with balconies overlooking a brick courtyard. Some suites are available, and the original rooms are cozy with original cedar paneling and wood floors. Smoke free premises. 323 units. 4 stories, interior corridors. Accessibility (Call).

Pros: I loved the feeling of the property and its proximity to the historic area. The décor in the room was dark but appealing in keeping with the folk art theme.
Cons: I was placed at the far back of the property which was quite a walk from the main building. The bathroom was tiny and the floors squeaked when getting up during the night. The hotel held two nights plus two fees on my debit card for my one night stay.

Excellent 3 night vacation. Lodge...
Pros: Real queen beds in double rooms (most hotels try to get away with twin) was a plus. Well appointed, spacious room. Awesome complimentary shampoos/etc. Location is excellent. Staff t reception and breakfast/bar/restaurant personable and very efficient/helpful. Loved tge outdoor (heated in late March) pool, once opened. Kids adore the place.
Cons: Can't think of anything, based on last or previous, experience.
