AAA Inspector Notes
Inspector Pick (Location (to sporting venues, shopping, nature, waterfront etc.)): This lovely hotel sits in the middle of Colonial Williamsburg's recreation and historic activities and is in walking distance to Merchants Square.
The lodge occupies several Colonial brick buildings sprawling over well-landscaped grounds adjacent to a restored area. The interior is decorated in a charming folk-art style with a casual elegance. The guest rooms vary, so make your choice based on your preferences—some are new with French doors opening onto patios; others are quite spacious with balconies overlooking a brick courtyard. Some suites are available, and the original rooms are cozy with original cedar paneling and wood floors. Smoke free premises. 323 units. 4 stories, interior corridors. Accessibility (Call).

Pros: Location was perfect, but make no mistake, this is not a premium hotel.
Cons: Plastic shutters in our room were broken and some were missing. The pillows were terrible. They were lumpy, cheap, and difficult to sleep on. There were stains in the carpet. There was hair in the shower from previous guests. Soap dish was broken.

Pros: The Hotel was very nice but the staff was amazing. The doormen weren't just friendly they caring. the Traditions Restaurant was so helpful. We came in for "Just coffee" once and he treated us like we had a 5 course meal, he went out of his way!
Cons: The pool is across the street and halfway down the block, but historical park is that close to so it balances out.
