Vermont Marble Museum is at 52 Main St. Said to contain one of the largest displays of its kind in the world, the museum illustrates the origin, quarrying and finishing of marble. More than 100 exhibits feature custom marble work, historic photographs, varied artifacts and the Earth Alive geology display room. The Hall of Presidents contains white marble relief statues of past U.S. presidents. The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier exhibit chronicles the history of the shrine, from the quarrying of the marble to the burial vault's arrival at Arlington National Cemetery.

Visitors also can observe the museum's sculptor in residence create marble carvings.
