Seattle Aquarium, 1483 Alaskan Way at Pier 59, features more than 380 species of birds, fish, invertebrates and marine mammals. Highlights include the 400,000-gallon Underwater Dome, a Pacific coral reef exhibit, a tide pool exhibit with touch zones and a section with harbor seals, fur seals and otters.

Window on Washington Waters replicates the rocky, kelp-filled underwater terrain that characterizes Neah Bay, inhabited by salmon, rockfish, sea anemones and other native marine life. Educational activities also are offered.

Food is available. Time: Allow 1 hour, 30 minutes minimum.
