Tillicum Village, on the northeast shore of Blake Island Marine State Park, is accessible by private boat or Argosy Cruises tour boat. Boats depart from Pier 55 on Alaskan Way for a 45-minute cruise on Elliott Bay; narration about Chief Seattle, the Duwamish River and other historical subjects is provided en route. Upon arrival guests are greeted with cups of steamed clams in broth before entering the village longhouse for a buffet repast that features Northwest-style baked salmon. Traditional Native American dances and Coast Salish storytelling are performed during dinner. After the meal visitors have time to explore the island or walk through the longhouse, which has displays of Coast Salish artwork, before boarding the boat for the return trip. Bring a jacket for the open-air boat ride. Food is available. Time: Allow 4 hours minimum.
