Whitney Gardens and Nursery is at 306264 US 101. Crushed rock paths loop through this nearly 7-acre display garden featuring hundreds of varieties of azaleas and rhododendrons, beauteous Japanese maples and other trees, shrubs and seasonal flowers. Some of the rhodies here are more than 75 years old. All plantings are labeled. Bloom season begins in March and lasts through September; the peak bloom for azaleas and rhododendrons is mid-April through May.
Picnicking is permitted. Food is available. Time: Allow 30 minutes minimum.
