PowellsWood is 1 mi. w. of SR 99 at 430 S. Dash Point Rd. (SR 509). A walking path loops through this 3-acre garden set in a wooded ravine. More than 1,000 varieties of trees, flowering shrubs and plants are arranged in eight themed areas. The site was a dumping ground for old cars and broken concrete as recently as the early 1990s, and the garden demonstrates the effectiveness of mulching to restore soil fertility.
Grassy sections of the path can be wet; wear sturdy walking shoes.
