AAA Editor Notes

Tennant Lake Natural History Interpretive Center is at 5236 Nielsen Rd. The center offers displays interpreting the seasons as well as a nature walk and a boardwalk trail around a marshy wetland. There are unobstructed views of the lake and wetland habitat from the top of a 50-foot-tall tower. A special kid’s area encourages hands-on activities. The Fragrance Garden is specially designed for the visually impaired—plants have singular smells and textures and are signed in braille.
Free.
Hours: Grounds open daily 8 a.m.-dusk. Center open Thurs.-Sun. noon-4, mid-June through Labor Day. Center hours vary rest of year; phone ahead.
