San Juan Historical Museum is at 405 Price St. in Friday Harbor. The museum consists of several historic buildings, each of which houses items relevant to its original use. An 1894 farmhouse is furnished in period and features photographs and memorabilia associated with island pioneers. A second building served as the San Juan County Jail 1895-1971. A resource center contains rotating exhibits describing area history. Guided tours are available. Picnicking is permitted. Time: Allow 30 minutes minimum.
$6; $5 (ages 65+); $4 (ages 6-17); $15 (family, two adults and two children).
Hours: Thurs.-Sat. 10-4, Sun. 1-4, May-Sept.; Sat. 1-4, in Apr. and Oct.; by appointment rest of year.
