Goldendale Observatory State Park is 1.5 mi. n. of Main St. at 1602 Observatory Dr. The observatory houses a 24.5-inch reflecting telescope, one of the largest of its kind in the country available for public use. In addition to various telescopes, visitors also have access to a 152mm Lunt H-Alpha Solar telescope for viewing the sun. Guided tours are available.
Park admission $10 (per private vehicle); Discover Pass, valid for 1 year, $30 (per private vehicle).
Hours: Wed.-Sun. 1-11:30, Apr.-Sept.; Fri.-Sun. 1-9, rest of year. Guided tours depart on the hour. Last admission 2 hours before closing.
