AAA Editor Notes
Grays Harbor National Wildlife Refuge is 1.5 mi. w. on SR 109, .5 mi. s. on Paulson Rd., then .5 mi. w. to 1400 Airport Way. The refuge is one of North America's four major shorebird staging areas. Several hundred thousand birds gather on the refuge's muddy tide flats from mid-April to mid-May to prepare for the continuation of their northbound journey to the Arctic.

A 1-mile trail provides viewing access. The best time to view the shorebirds is from 2 hours before to 2 hours after high tide.

Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.
