Issaquah State Salmon Hatchery, 125 W. Sunset Way, raises 5 to 6 million chinook and coho salmon each year. Adult salmon return to the hatchery in fall. Visitors can take a self-guiding tour of the facilities. Outdoor exhibits explain the salmon life cycle and watershed characteristics. Wetland and native plant gardens are on the premises. Birding enthusiasts may view many species on the grounds and along Issaquah Creek. Guided tours are available.

Hours: Grounds open daily dawn-dusk. Lobby exhibits and movie open daily 8-4. Guided tours depart Sat.-Sun. at 11 and 1, early Sept. to mid-Nov.
