U.S. Naval Undersea Museum is 3 mi. e. of SR 3 on SR 308 to the main access road to Naval Undersea Warfare Center, 1 Garnett Way. The museum uses audio and visual effects to simulate an undersea atmosphere. A timeline illustrates the history of sea exploration. Exhibits focus on mines and torpedoes, submarines in the World War II Pacific Theater and the physics of the undersea world.</br>Outdoor exhibits include the deep-sea submersibles DSRV Mystic, Trieste II and Deep Quest as well as the sail from the submarine USS Sturgeon and the end bell from the Sealab II.</br>

Hours: Daily 10-4, May-Sept.; Wed.-Mon. 10-4, rest of year. Closed Jan. 1, Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
