U.S. Naval Undersea Museum is 3 mi. e. of SR 3 on SR 308 to the main access road to Naval Undersea Warfare Center, 1 Garnett Way. The museum uses audio and visual effects to simulate an undersea atmosphere. A timeline illustrates the history of sea exploration. Exhibits focus on mines and torpedoes, submarines in the World War II Pacific Theater and the physics of the undersea world.
Outdoor exhibits include the deep-sea submersibles DSRV Mystic, Trieste II and Deep Quest as well as the sail from the submarine USS Sturgeon and the end bell from the Sealab II.
