AAA Editor Notes
Billy Frank Jr. Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge is 7 mi. e. to I-5 exit 114, then .5 mi. n. to 100 Brown Farm Rd. Protecting the Nisqually delta, the refuge encompasses saltwater and freshwater marshes, tidal flats, forests, grasslands and streams that provide habitats for a variety of birds, mammals and reptiles. The wetlands can only be reached by foot trail; the Twin Barns Loop Trail, a 1-mile boardwalk, and the 1.5-mile Estuary Trail wind through the refuge itself. Nature observers can take advantage of an observation platform, and there is a visitor center.

Pets and bicycles are not permitted within the refuge.
