Wanapum Heritage Center is 5.5 mi. s. on SR 243, then .5 mi. w. on Priest Rapids Dam Rd. following signs. The center offers exhibits depicting the culture of the Wanapum Indians and life along the Columbia River from prehistoric times to the construction of Priest Rapids and Wanapum dams in the 1950s. Visitors can pilot a steamboat on a simulator, view historical artifacts and watch documentary videos.
