Mount Spokane is 15 mi. n.e. in Mount Spokane State Park. An improved road leads to the 5,878-foot summit where, in clear weather, sweeping views encompass portions of Washington, Idaho, Montana and British Columbia. A Civilian Conservation Corps-built shelter, known as Vista House, crowns the summit.
Washington's largest state park features more than 100 miles of trails, which draw hikers and mountain bikers in summer. Winter attracts downhill and cross-country skiers; a Sno-Park permit is required November through April.
Recreational activities are permitted. Camping is permitted.
