AAA Editor Notes
Pacific Northwest Naval Air Museum, 270 S.E. Pioneer Way, showcases the history of naval aviation on Whidbey Island. On display are photographs, uniforms, models, equipment and memorabilia from World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War and later conflicts.

The museum's collection includes a 1943 PBY-5A Catalina, an amphibious patrol bomber that was based at Whidbey and served in the Aleutian Islands during World War II. Visitors can see the engine that powered the bomber and test their skills on a PBY flight simulator. A Night Vision Goggle Room offers visitors the chance to learn about nocturnal flying.

Time: Allow 30 minutes minimum.
