Mount Walker Viewpoint is 5 mi. s. on US 101, then 4 mi. e. on FR 2730 (Mount Walker Viewpoint Rd.; watch for the signed turnoff) to the entrance gate. The easternmost peak in the Olympic Mountains, 2,804-foot Mount Walker is the only peak facing Puget Sound. A gravel road and hiking trail provide access to the summit, which offers a spectacular panorama of the Olympics, Puget Sound, the Seattle skyline and—to the east on a very clear day—Mt. Baker and the distant Cascades.
The trailhead for a strenuous 2-mile hiking trail to the top is a quarter-mile from the beginning of the gravel road.
Picnicking is permitted.
