Burke Museum of Natural History and Culture is at the 17th Ave. N.E. and N.E. 45th St. entrance to the University of Washington campus. The museum focuses on the natural and cultural history of the Pacific Rim. Displays draw from a permanent collection numbering more than 16 million objects, while diverse special exhibits portray this part of the world's natural and cultural stories. Family and children's events are scheduled year-round. Food is available. Time: Allow 30 minutes minimum.
$10; $8 (ages 65+); $7.50 (ages 5-18 and students with ID); free (ages 0-4 and to all first Thurs. of the month). Parking: $5-$15 (with validation).
Hours: Daily 10-5 (also first Thurs. of the month 5-8). Closed Jan. 1, July 4, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
