MoPOP (Museum of Pop Culture) is on the Seattle Center grounds at 325 5th Ave. N. Exhibits inside this eye-catching building—designed by architect Frank O. Gehry to resemble a smashed guitar—explore the history of music, science fiction and popular culture through state-of-the-art interactive displays and an extensive collection of memorabilia. The Sky Church houses a gigantic LED video screen that constantly pulses with music videos, short films and performances.

The Guitar Gallery follows the evolution of the rock's favorite instrument. Visitors can make their own music in the Sound Lab using a variety of instruments and high-tech musical gear, or become a rock star in On Stage. True rock music fans will pay their respects at exhibits saluting the talents of Jimi Hendrix and other music icons.

The pop culture side of the museum encourages visitors to explore the worlds of fantasy, science fiction, horror, video games, animation, costumes and sports with rotating installations.

Food is available. Time: Allow 2 hours minimum.
