Pacific Science Center is at 200 2nd Ave. N. adjacent to the Seattle Center grounds. Exhibits run the gamut here, from a Tropical Butterfly House and Insect Village to Professor Wellbody's Academy of Health & Wellness, where interactive inventions, gadgets and experiences promote exercise, diet and hygiene choices to help ensure lifelong health. Scale-model dinosaurs are set in a Mesozoic-era environment. Other highlights include an interactive planetarium, laser light shows and two IMAX theaters with 3-D capability.

Water Works is an outdoor exhibit with pumps, a propeller and a giant water wheel. The High Rail Bicycle teaches riders about the center of mass while taking them on a daring adventure via a rail 1 inch wide and 15 feet above the ground.

Food is available.

Exhibits $23.95; $21.95 (ages 65+); $17.95 (ages 6-15); $13.95 (ages 3-5). IMAX film $10.75-$16.95; $9.75-$15.95 (ages 65+); $8.75-$14.95 (ages 6-15); $6.75-$11.95 (ages 3-5). Combination exhibits and IMAX documentary film $33.70; $30.70 (ages 65+); $25.70 (ages 6-15); $19.70 (ages 3-5). Planetarium shows free with general admission. Matinee laser shows additional $4. Evening laser shows $14.

Daily 10-6, mid-June through Labor Day; Mon.-Fri. 10-5, Sat.-Sun. 10-6, rest of year. High Rail Bicycle and other outdoor exhibits open seasonally (weather permitting). Exhibits closed Thanksgiving and Christmas. IMAX closed Christmas. Allow 3 hours minimum.
