Sky View Observatory is downtown at 701 5th Ave., jct. Columbia St. Located on the 73rd floor of the Columbia Center, this public observation area offers a panoramic view of Seattle and its surrounds. Giant windows provide views of Elliott Bay, Mt. Baker, the Cascade and Olympic mountains, the Space Needle, Mt. Rainier (on a clear day) and other landmarks. Wall murals, video displays and window plaques identify landmarks and provide information about the history and geography of Seattle as well as the construction of the Columbia Center, one of the tallest skyscrapers on the West Coast. Note: From the 5th Ave. lobby, take an elevator to the 40th floor Sky Lobby, then take another elevator to the 73rd floor. Food is available.
$14.75; $9 (ages 6-12, ages 55+ and students and military with ID).
Station: Pioneer Square
Hours: Daily 9 a.m.-10 p.m., Memorial Day-Labor Day; 10-8, rest of year. Closed Jan. 1, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Allow 1 hour minimum.
