Smith Tower is at 506 2nd Ave. in Pioneer Square. At 522-feet-tall, this 42-story building was the tallest west of the Mississippi River when it was built in 1914. Guests learn about the tower's history through exhibits and self-guiding tours. The 35th-floor observatory features a speakeasy-themed cocktail bar and cafe as well as an open-air observation deck that offers 360-degree views of Seattle, the Olympics, Mount Rainier and the Cascades; access to the observatory level requires a tour ticket. The Straight Up tour offers quick access to the observatory level, while the 40-minute Legends of Smith Tower self-guiding tour includes street-level exhibits as well as a trip to the observatory level. Food is available.
Straight Up tour $10; advance reservations recommended to ensure availability. Legends of Smith Tower tour $19.14; $17 (senior citizens and military with ID); $14 (ages 5-12).
