AAA Editor Notes

The Center For Wooden Boats is at 1010 Valley St., next to Lake Union Park. The center displays more than 50 wooden vessels ranging from replicas to boats over a century old. The collection includes dugout canoes from Native Americans. A Wooden Boat Festival is held the first weekend in July. Rental sailboats, rowboats, canoes and pedal boats are available. Guided tours are available.
Donations. Boat rentals $30-$60 per hour.

Hours: Daily 10-8, late Apr.-early Sept.; daily 10-7, early to late Sept.; Tues.-Sun. 10-6, late Sept.-late Oct.; Tues.-Sun. 10-5, rest of year. Boat rentals daily 12:30-dusk, May-Sept.; Sat.-Sun. 12:30-dusk, rest of year. Closed Thanksgiving and Christmas. Allow 30 minutes minimum.
