AAA Inspector Notes
Inspector Pick (Classification): I am enthralled with the stunning beauty and historic feel of this hotel. Especially noteworthy is the Northern Lights Dome Room used for meetings.
Close to sports venues and Pioneer Square, this historic hotel was once a social club for businessmen who found fortune in the Klondike Gold Rush. Look for a dignified lobby and modern guest rooms. When you step into the paneled lobby, you will see reminders of another era, including autographed photos of founders and a collection of top hats that once protected their heads from the Seattle rain. The ballroom is an expansive statement of Edwardian opulence. Upstairs, check out the room number plates; each has an engraved figurine of a walrus to mimic the large busts mounted around the exterior of the building, another reminder of the days when Seattle was the seaport gateway to the Great North. Smoke free premises. 120 units. 10 stories, interior corridors. Accessibility (Call).

Pros: It is a classic, historic building that has been beautifully restored. The rooms are charming and elegantly decorated. Great traditional bar (Polar Bar) in the lobby. Nice extras, such as a French press coffee maker and entertainment system, in each room.
Cons: Rooms were a bit small.

Pros: The hotel was really nice and the staff were very helpful and nice as well.
Cons: The hotel rooms are VERY SMALL... but since we only stayed there for 1 night, it was not a big deal.

Pros: Atmosphere and interior spaces were kept period for the most part. Some mismatched deco for the period but overall a really beautiful hotel. The entire staff was great!
Cons: We expected a VERT experienced bar staff and this was a little lacking. I expected a period hotel to have and know period drinks but they seemed have changed the recipes. The restaurant fair was too narrow. Breakfast was great, dinner selection wasn't

Pros: There was a fridge in the room which was great. The location was amazing in terms of proximity to a Link station, but many restaurants and shops close by 5:00PM.
Cons: I both loved and hated the location. You will have street noise which includes drunken yelling. The shops in the immediate area close by 5:00. It was not ideal for us.
