The Tacoma Nature Center

The Tacoma Nature Center is at 1919 S. Tyler St. This 71-acre urban nature preserve is home to a variety of reptiles and amphibians as well as 20 species of mammals and roughly 100 species of birds. Visitors can follow 2.6 miles of interpretive trails that meander through woods and wetlands and along the shore of 17-acre Snake Lake. A visitor center features exhibits describing the area's plant and animal life.
