Spring Creek National Fish Hatchery is 4 mi. w. of Hood River-White Salmon Bridge at 61552 SR 14. One of the oldest salmon hatcheries on the Columbia River, it was established in 1901 and has a visitor center, rearing ponds and a fish ladder. Mature chinook salmon can be seen in September; fingerlings are released in spring. Picnicking is permitted. Time: Allow 30 minutes minimum.
