AAA Inspector Notes
Inspector Pick (Romantic): What I like most in a room is luxurious bedding, wine glasses, a robe and lavish bath products. They have it all and that's why I stay here.
You need to see the luxurious lobby to appreciate its grandeur. The hotel has four wine-tasting rooms on site. Guest rooms feature luxurious bedding, lovely wine glasses and lavish bath products. After renovations in 1999, the property now serves as a main convention location with more than 10,000-square-feet of state-of-the-art meeting facilities. This 1928 property saw its share of high-profile guests, including Dwight D. Eisenhower, Lyndon B. Johnson, Louis Armstrong and Shirley Temple. Smoke free premises. 127 units. 7 stories, interior corridors. Accessibility (Call).

If you love to wine taste, then the town of Walla Walla and this hotel is for you. This is a beautiful old hotel with excellent restaurant and award winning chef. You can eat from a less expensive menu in the bar/lounge area which is just as nice with a cozy huge fireplace. You can walk everywhere downtown. However there are not a lot of restaurants and shops that stay open, except for holiday weekends. There is a small Macy's shop and a couple clothing shops... But, mostly the shops are wine tasting from the many vineyards. Saves driving to the numerous vineyards. Other than wine tasting and visiting other little wheat farm communities, we found it hard to get any variety in restaurant food or craft beers. With that said, if I was to visit that area again, I would highly recommend staying at the Marcus Whitman.
Pros: Beautiful old hotel with excellent restaurant and bar award winning chef.
Cons: No.

Beautiful old but well-kept hotel in a simple but charming city of wine-bars, art galleries and music stores. Best hotel in town.
Pros: The staff could not be nicer or more willing to help.
Cons: No bellhop service.

Its downtown location, free parking, free Wi-Fi, work-out room, and wonderful lobby are additional features that make a stay at the Whitman a pleasure.
Pros: This is a historic hotel that succeeded in integrating 21st century conveniences without destroying its original design. It alone is worth a trip to Walla Walla. The staff-reception, room service, and restaurant-was friendly, helpful, and competent.
