Fort Simcoe State Park is 7 mi. w. of White Swan, following signs to 5150 Fort Simcoe Rd. It was one of two interior Washington Territory army posts established as a result of hostilities between settlers and the Yakama Nation in the fall of 1856. Two blockhouses, a guardhouse and barracks are replicated. Officers Row includes four original houses and a blockhouse. Picnicking is permitted.
Park admission $10 (per private vehicle); Discover Pass, valid for 1 year, $30 (per private vehicle).
Hours: Park open daily 6:30 a.m.-dusk, Apr.-Oct. Museum and interpretive center open Wed.-Sun. 9:30-4:30, Apr.-Sept.; by appointment rest of year.
