Henry Clay Iron Furnace, located in Coopers Rock State Forest, is accessible from a 0.8-mi. trail off CR 73/12. One of the few surviving examples of an early 19th-century iron furnace, the 30-foot-high square stack was built from local stone in the 1830s and operated through the 1840s. Except for a small glade, the surrounding forest shows no sign of the community that flourished for 12 years, shipping pig iron as far away as St. Louis.
