Durbin Rocket departs from the Durbin Depot on US 250 (Staunton-Parkersburg Tpke.). Powered by a Climax 1910 steam locomotive, the 10.5-mile, 2-hour trip travels through the Greenbrier River wilderness providing both scenic mountain and river views as the train makes its way through the Monongahela National Forest. Passengers have a choice of riding in one of two cabooses, an open-air car, an enclosed car or an open-sided car. A 15- to 20-minute stop is made at a picnic area at Hevener Station.

Picnicking is permitted.

Admission
$30; $28 (ages 65+); $20 (ages 4-11). An additional $5 per person is charged Sat. in fall. Reservations are recommended.

Departures at 10 and 2:30, Tues.-Sun. in Oct.; Thurs-Sun, June-Sept. (also on Labor Day); Sat.-Sun. in May (also Fri. and Mon. of Memorial Day weekend). Phone ahead to confirm schedule. Allow 3 hours minimum.
