It was a good value...
Pros: When driving up to the property, I was a little worried about how my experience would be, but I shouldn’t have been. I saw quite a few oiler/gasser trucks and expected a muddy lobby, but it was very clean and welcoming. The hotel was located between another hotel and a Cracker Barrel (I walked across the lot to it) which was reasonable, clean and friendly.
On check in, Alan was really friendly and personable, and my check in was quick. There was some renovation going on two doors down from my room, but I didn’t hear anything of it. The hotel does allow pets and I heard barking in the evening, but not past 7:00 pm. I didn’t see any pets either. Bruce was also very friendly, and checkout was quick and easy.
I checked on the room before bringing my things in. It was dated and smaller than I expected, but comfortable and clean. The room a micro fridge, microwave, and a desk with two lamps, plus a lamp on the bedside table with an extra outlet in the base, which was good because most of the other outlets were taken. Not a bad thing, just an observation. It also had a nice sized flat screen tv, the beds were clean and EXTREMELY comfortable and free from bed bugs. The h/v/ac unit was self-controlled and quiet. The carpet was worn and frayed at the seam, but that didn’t matter to me. The room was clean, didn’t have an odor, and had nice decor which was pleasant to me.
The bathroom was small but clean.
The breakfast was limited, but I had breakfast late (8:00) so it wasn’t crowded. One mini-waffle maker, a couple of different cold cereals, yogurt, fruit, hot cereals, milk, coffee/tea, and fruit juice were available.
Overall, the experience was an extremely good one, and I would recommend the hotel to friends and stay there again.
Cons: The frayed seam in the carpet, and the size of the room and bathroom may put someone off, but it didn’t bother me. Everything was clean, there were no offensive odors, so it was a pleasant visit.
