AAA Editor Notes
Seneca Rocks is off US 33 and SR 28 at the town of Seneca Rocks. Rising above the North Fork River, this 900-foot-tall mass of intricately eroded quartzite sandstone is one of the most impressive rock formations in the East and is considered to be an excellent rock-climbing area.

According to legend, Snow Bird, the beautiful daughter of Seneca chief Bald Eagle, held a contest to decide who should be her husband. The first warrior to scale the mighty cliff, which she had been able to climb since her early childhood, was eligible to marry her.
