The Anna Jarvis Birthplace Museum is .2 mi. w. on US 119/250 at 3576 Webster Pike. The 1854 two-story home was the birthplace of Anna Jarvis, the founder of Mother's Day. The establishment of this holiday was a fervent wish of Ms. Jarvis' mother. The house also served as a place to quarter some of Gen. George McClellan's soldiers during the Civil War while he set up his headquarters in Grafton. The museum contains more than 5,500 artifacts relating to Jarvis and the war. Guided tours are available.

Hours: Tues.-Sat. 10-2, Apr.-Dec.; and by appointment. Last admission 1 hour before closing. Paranormal tours at 8 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. on 1st and 3rd Fri. of every month; reservations are required. Closed Christmas. Allow 30 minutes minimum.
