Old World Wisconsin
AAA Editor Notes
Old World Wisconsin is 1.5 mi. s. at W372 S9727 SR 67. This 576-acre state historic site consists of more than 65 preserved and furnished buildings erected by 19th- and early 20th-century Wisconsin immigrants. Visitors can perform tasks at Life on the Farm and ride a reproduction tricycle around a track at Catch Wheel Fever.

Nearly a dozen ethnic groups are represented at the 1880s Village and 10 working farmsteads, stocked with rare breeds of horses, oxen, chickens, sheep and hogs. The gardens and fields are planted with many heirloom varieties of grains, flowers, fruits, herbs and vegetables. Period-clad interpreters encourage hands-on interaction with the work and crafts of the immigrants.

A 15-minute orientation film about 19th-century Wisconsin is offered on the lower level of Ramsey Barn. If walking, allow 4 to 6 hours and wear comfortable shoes. Tram service is available. Seasonal events take place throughout the year.

Food is available.
