Gordon Bubolz Nature Preserve is 1.5 mi. n. of US 41 on CR A. This privately maintained non-profit reserve covers 725 acres and provides 8.5 miles of trails for year-round outdoor activities. Trails range from a half-mile to 4.5 miles in length and accommodate cross-country skiers and snowshoers in winter. Wildlife viewing includes a wide variety of native birds and animals. Exhibits at the nature center describe the seasonal changes of indigenous plants and animals.
Picnicking is permitted. Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.
Hiking trails by donation. Fee for cross-country skiing.
Hours: Preserve open daily dawn-dusk. Nature center open Tues.-Fri. 8-4:30, Sat. 11-4, Sun. 12:30-4. Nature center weekend hours dependent on staff availability; phone ahead to confirm schedule. Nature center closed major holidays.
