History Museum at the Castle is at 330 E. College Ave. The museum's A.K.A. Houdini exhibit recounts the life of magician Harry Houdini, who claimed Appleton as his hometown, and reveals how he performed his most spectacular illusions. Other long-term exhibits feature the infamous Senator Joseph McCarthy and an authentic circa 1951 model train of Appleton. The Museum features changing galleries with various local history themes.
