Sandhill Wildlife Area is at 1715 CR X. Automobile and hiking trails with observation towers permit visitors to view the woods and wide marshes of this 9,150-acre wildlife refuge, home to geese, ducks, sand hill cranes, bison, deer and other native flora and fauna. Recreational activities include biking, hiking, cross-country skiing, hunting and bird-watching. Educational programs are offered at the Sandhill Outdoor Skills Center. Recreational activities are permitted.
Hours: Park open daily dawn-dusk. Automobile trails open daily, mid-Apr. through Oct. 31; also mid-Dec. to mid-Mar. for cross-country skiing. Allow 2 hours minimum.
