Dickeyville Grotto is at 305 W. Main St. Made of costume jewelry, knickknacks, colorful bits of stone, glass and shell from around the world, the grotto was built 1925-30 by Father Mathias Wernerus as an expression of unity between religion and patriotism. Several shrines dot the garden, including the Patriotic, Sacred Heart, Christ the King and Fatima shrines. Guided tours are available. Time: Allow 30 minutes minimum.

Hours: Grotto open daily 24 hours. Guided tours daily 11-4, June-Aug.; Sat.-Sun. 11-4, Sept.-Oct.
