Crex Meadows Wildlife Area is .5 mi. n. at the corner of CR D and CR F (follow the geese silhouette signs). More than 30,000 acres of wetlands, brush prairie and forests are accessible via a 60-mile road system. Some 270 species of birds have been observed, including blue herons, trumpeter swans, sharp-tailed grouse, bald eagles, Canada geese, ospreys, sandhill cranes and migrating waterfowl. River otters, wolves and bears also call Crex Meadows home. The Wildlife Education Center features wildlife and habitat displays, a prairie garden and education films. An Auto Tour Guide, maps and education brochures are available.
Picnicking is permitted. Time: Allow 1 hour, 30 minutes minimum.
