Madeline Island Museum is 1 blk. from the ferry landing in La Pointe at 226 Colonel Woods Ave. Surrounded by a log stockade, this state historic site consists of an American Fur Co. warehouse, the island jail, a barn and the old Sailors’ Home. Exhibits and programs explore more than 350 years of human interaction with the land and waters of the Lake Superior region from early Native American habitation to the present.
