Madison Museum of Contemporary Art is at 227 State St. Designed by architect Cesar Pelli, the museum presents modern and contemporary art in various media including paintings, photography and sculpture. The collection features works by Deborah Butterfield, Frida Kahlo, Diego Rivera and Cindy Sherman. An illuminated sculpture garden covers 7,100 square feet on the museum roof.
