The Mabel Tainter Center for the Arts is at 205 Main St. Built in 1889, this Richardsonian Romanesque building contains a public reading room, an artist gallery with temporary exhibits and the Victorian Landmark Theater. Decorated with white pine, oak, mahogany and cherry woods, Italian marble, Tiffany stained-glass windows and polished brass, the theater features an 1889 Steere & Turner tracker pipe organ with 1,597 pipes and 25 stops. Performing arts programs are presented year-round.
