Charles Allis Art Museum is at 1801 N. Prospect Ave. at the corner of E. Royall Pl. This Tudor-style mansion with original furnishings was completed in 1911 for Charles Allis, the first president of Allis-Chalmers Manufacturing Co., and his wife Sarah. The art collection, spanning more than 2,000 years, emphasizes the fine arts—drawing, painting, ceramics and sculpture. Featured are Classic antiquities, Renaissance bronzes, Asian ceramics and decorative arts. Changing exhibitions of Wisconsin artists are presented. Time: Allow 30 minutes minimum.

Hours: Wed.-Sun. 1-5. Closed Jan. 1, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas.
