AAA Inspector Notes
A great hotel! Something unique here is that every room includes a little rubber duck for guests to take home; they're apparently a very popular collectors item. There are about 40 differently dressed/shaped rubber ducks in all. Some guests even buy the whole set as a sort of collectors edition. Smoke free premises. 107 units. 3 stories, interior corridors. Accessibility (Call).

Pros: Omelets for breakfast were great. Pool area was clean and quiet. Convenient location. Outback Steakhouse right next door.
Cons: Turkey sausages not appealing to ME - others might have liked them.

Pros: Staff were very accommodating -- especially when they had no information from Booking.Com. There were three other guests that were in the same situation -- and almost did not get a room!
Cons: Booking.Com's not having contacted the hotel with our reservation. It was not a pleasant situation.

Pros: I didn't like that we had booked the room through"Booking.com" and when we got there, the hotel informed methat they weren't expecting us. The hotel manager couldn't bemore accomodating, explaining that Booking.com never notified the hotelthe reservation. Through attentiveness and great care for our situation(we arrived, exhausted after a 6 hour drive, at 12:30am, with an earlywake up), she was able to make suitable arrangements for us -
Cons: The manager asked me to call booking.com the next morning and authorizethem to speak with her to work through this situation. Naturally, I wasstill miffed at booking.com - and even more irked when both agents withwhom I spoke tried to pass the blame to Hampton. But how could Hamptonhave done anything if they had no knowledge of our booking? I do notknow enough about the Third party booking "partnership" withhotels to know where the responsibility falls, but I found it patheticthat Booking.com would not accept any responsibility. In fact, thebooking.com rep asked me why I didn't call Booking.com when theHampton didn't have a room. What a dumb question: why would I whenthe hotels manager was earnestly as work trying to resolve this problem.Just goes to show how important it is to try to reach a hotel directlyand book with them. By the way, I remain impressed with the Hamptonchain and their commitment to customer satisfaction, and the manager(Hannah) is to be commended.
