Marathon County Historical Museum is at 403 and 410 McIndoe St. The Yawkey House Museum preserves the 1900 neoclassical house of Cyrus Yawkey, a wealthy lumberman. Ionic columns and elaborate door and window frames mark the entrance. The house is furnished and painted in authentic 1910 colors, and the basement contains a model railroad display. The Woodson History Center across the street features a library and exhibit area.

Guided tours are available.

Admission
Woodson History Center free. Yawkey House tour $7; $6 (ages 65+); $5 (ages 6-17 and students with ID).
Hours
Open Tues.-Fri. 9-4:30, Sat.-Sun. 1-4:30. Guided tours of Yawkey House are given on the hour; last tour departs 90 minutes before closing. Closed major holidays.
