Marathon County Historical Museum is at 403 and 410 McIndoe St. The Yawkey House Museum preserves the 1900 neoclassical house of Cyrus Yawkey, a wealthy lumberman. Ionic columns and elaborate door and window frames mark the entrance. The house is furnished and painted in authentic 1910 colors, and the basement contains a model railroad display. The Woodson History Center across the street features a library and exhibit area.
